About Us -Online Psychotherapy Services
Our Therapy Journey delivers psychotherapy services via digital modalities, including secure video, audio, and electronic messaging. We cater to clients needing help with mental health conditions or to anyone who needs to talk and be heard. Please note that we only serve residents of the State of Ohio. Navigate our website to learn more about what we offer.
Our goal is to provide safe, effective psychotherapy at your convenience from the comfort of your home, office or any private space. In addition, we hope to take the stigma out of mental health services by taking a wellness approach. A state of wellness means living a lifestyle that incorporates a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease. Just as we see a medical practitioner for maintaining good health, it is our goal for people to begin this habit with their mental health as well.
We also believe that mental health should be accessible to as many people as possible. Part of our reason for forming an online practice was to provide services for those that may not otherwise be reached. People that are in rural areas, people that find it difficult to travel and those with disorders that make life seem so difficult keeping office appointments can feel impossible.
As practitioners we also believe that financial strain should not prevent mental health care.We are proud to partner with Open Path Collective to provide low cost services to clients.

Hi! I'm Jennifer, I want to tell you a little about myself. I'm the owner/operator of Our Therapy Journey in Akron, Ohio. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the State of Ohio. I am a Wake Forest University graduate, holding a Master of Arts in Counseling degree with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Chi Sigma Iota Pi Alpha Chapter and hold both the nationally certified counselor (NCC) and the certified trauma professional designation (CTP).
My work focuses on individuals and groups that struggle with trauma, anxiety and related disorders, as well as mild depression, and overall mental/emotional wellness. All of these can be difficult to navigate alone. I am here to offer a safe space, for whatever is weighing on you. When we begin, much like when you build any other relationship, I would like to build our therapeutic relationship. I believe the best therapy takes place when it begins person centered, meaning we take a little time to build the therapeutic relationship, build trust and have open, honest communication. I want you know this is a safe environment for you to share your thoughts and feelings, there is no judgment. I encourage honest feedback from you, not only regarding your goals but also our work together. I would like you to be direct about what works, what does not work or if things are going well. This is a collaborative process and we can often adjust to make things better to fit your needs.
